On the eve of the 2019 Spring Festival, our company received an order for a mortar production line retrofit project. The original designed output of the line was 50 m³/h, but due to issues with the existing process layout, this target was not being met, resulting in significant losses for the client.
Prior to placing the order, the client conducted thorough research via phone consultations and online searches, learning that our company is a professional manufacturer of conveying and lifting equipment with an excellent reputation in the industry. For this project, key equipment supplied included a NE50 bucket elevator (20 meters high) and an MS320 chain scraper conveyor (5 meters long). All equipment was installed, commissioned, and successfully began trial operation in March 2020. The system has been running smoothly and efficiently since.
Mortar Production Line Process Flow:
River sand requires drying and screening before storage. If using manufactured sand, it undergoes crushing, screening, and potentially further crushing, followed by grading and storage.
Binders, fillers, and additives are delivered to their respective storage silos.
Materials are precisely batched and weighed according to the specific formula.
All raw materials are fed into a mixer for homogeneous blending.
The finished dry mortar is conveyed to a product storage silo for either bagging or bulk loading.
Product is transported to the construction site. Bulk dry mortar must be transported using specialized bulk silos or vehicles to prevent segregation, which can compromise construction quality.
Dry mortar is loaded into a mortar mixer, where water is added in the correct proportion.
The mixed wet mortar is pumped to the application point using a specialized mortar pump for plastering or other construction uses.
What is Dry Mix Mortar?
Dry mix mortar (or dry mortar) refers to a pre-mixed, granular or powdered material composed of dried and screened aggregates (e.g., river sand, manufactured sand, quartz sand), inorganic binders (e.g., cement), and additives (e.g., fibers, polymer powders) blended in specific proportions. It is delivered to the construction site in bags or in bulk, ready to be mixed with water and used directly. Some construction adhesives also fall into this category. Dry mortar is extensively used in building construction for masonry work, internal wall plastering, flooring, external wall insulation systems, and more.
